Wall Mosque of Darwesh Shah

Situated inside Gulmohar park on the Asiad village road. This is a Lodi period mosque.

Entry  is from Dalbir Saxena Marg (the road from Siri Fort to Uphaar Cinema)

Who was the Darwesh Shah? 

As per one story he the one who had asked a group of boys over six centuries ago whether they would like to buy the kingdom of Delhi for 2,000 tankas? Only Bahlol agreed and was blessed by the darwesh. His friends later made fun of him for being “a fool”. Bahlol replied that it was not so, because if the darwesh's word was true he stood to gain a kingdom, and if it was not so, he had done the right thing in giving a fakirwhat he desired. How right he was is evident, for Bahlol Lodhi became the founder of a dynasty which bore his name.

Gandhak ki baoli, mehrauli

The baoli is about 100 meters south of Adham Khan's tomb in Mehrauli behind the Mehrauli bus terminal.






It is one of the largest step-wells or baolis in and around Mehrauli. 

It was built during the reign of Emperor Iltutmish of the Slave dynasty. 












The baoli is known as Gandhak ki Baoli because of its waters smell like gandhak, which means sulphur.

  

  

Tomb of Najaf Khan near Safdarjung Airport flyover

Mirza Najaf Khan was a Persian adventurer in the court of Mughal emperor Shah Alam II.

His sister married into the family of the Nawab of Awadh. 

He also held the title of Deputy Wazir of Awadh. 




His tomb is made on mugal charbagh style.

  

He had royal lineage, having been a Safavi prince.

  

His main contribution in history was as commander in chief of the Mughal army from 1772 till his death in April 1782.

you have to either go from the lane near the Siri Sports complex or behind Gargi college.

Bijri Khan's tomb, R K Puram Sector 3

  

  

  

 

Next to the Bijri tomb (located on the main R K Puram road which runs between sector 3 and sector 2) which is a Lodi era structure,is a structure from the Tuglaq era.

I haven't been able to find much information on either of the tombs.

Chor Minar, Hauz Khas

Chor Minar or 'Tower of Thieves' is a 13th century minaret with 225 holes.


According to local legends, it was a 'tower of beheading', where the severed heads of thieves were displayed on spear through its 225 holes, to act as a deterrent to others.


 It was built under the rule of Alauddin Khilji
